The Velodrome of the XXXVI Olympiad
1996, Atlanta, Georgia

The 250 meter Olympic Velodrome designed and constructed by V96SG (V-WorldWide) was the introduction of the company’s revolutionary track system featuring a steel undercarriage and a surface of wood panels with a textured resin overlay. Designed to be green, the new system utilized readily replenishable wood and was fully demountable, allowing for reuse of the velodrome in other locations.

Every Olympic and two world records were set on Atlanta’s Olympic Velodrome, which was called the gold medal winner by U.S.A. Today during its Olympic Coverage. The final outdoor Olympic venue for track cycling, Atlanta still holds two spots in the Olympic Record books with — Men’s 200m sprint time trial & Women’s 200m sprint time trial.

It was dis-assembled after the games and re-assembled in Bromont, Quebec, Canada. It is the main sports facitlity at the Canadian National Training Center.

Velodrome of the 15th Asian Games
2006, Doha, Qatar

Remarkable in design and construction, the 250m velodrome for the Asian Games set an Asian Game Record in every event and was something of a modern marvel. Constructed 2.5m off the ground to accommodate a non-invasive tunnel, the entire project was completed in less than 120 days, from contract to UCI homologation. Built to be dis-assembled and stored for future use, the Velodrome is now underwraps in Qatar waiting for the completion of its new world class building.

V-Drome, U.S.A.

The V-Drome is a 166m portable velodrome. It travels in two trailers and can be used in cities across North America. The design phase is completed and construction has begun with a completion date of 08-20-07. The V-Drome will be used by the Pro Track Cycling League in its tour of America.

The Velodrome at Bloomer Park
Rochester Hills, Michigan

This 200m Outdoor Velodrome features a surface of specially-coated marine grade plywood and permanent steel undercarriage utilizing V WorldWide's proprietary noodle design to provide the ultimate smooth surface at the lowest cost possible. Banked at 44 degrees in the turns and 13 in the straights, the Velodrome at Bloomer Park is rider-friendly and capably hosts racers from 10yr to 70yr olds. Situated in a scenic city-owned park of more than 200 acres, the 5 acre venue includes spectator friendly festival seating, tunnel access and a life expectancy on the undercarriage of more than 30 years and surface expectancy of 15 years.

The Velodrome of the 14th Asian Games
2002, Pusan, South Korea

The Pusan Velodrome was designed to fit precisely into Geumjong Stadium, which was already under construction when V-WorldWide received the bid. At 333m, the Pusan Velodrome was designed to accommodate the immediate needs of the Asian Games, including a challenging venue for sprinters and time trialists, as well as accommodate the popular sport of keiren racing.

After the Asian Games the velodrome became the feature facility of the Professional Keirin Association in Pusan. Gambling generates a $1 million dollar handle daily.

EDS Superdrome, 1999, Frisco, Texas

Designed to be a sprint track, the Superdrome located in Frisco, Texas mimicked the size and shape of the successful Atlanta venue but slightly steeper and immediately became one of the premier tracks in the U.S.

International Training Center
Colombo, Sri Lanka — Under Construction

Scheduled for completion in March, 2007, the 200m concrete surface velodrome will be the showpiece in Sri Lanka's new International Sports Complex located in the countryside near Sri Lanka's capital, Colombo.
