Michigan Senior Olympics Thursday August 14, 2008 the Michigan Senior Olympic athletes competed at The International Velodrome at Bloomer Park.
Announcement The International Velodrome at Bloomer Park is pleased to announce that Mr. Daniele DeFranceschi has accepted the position of Elite Rider Coach. Daniele D will be focusing on preparing our Elite Riders for the US National Championships. We have several riders preparing for Nationals - Colliegate Nats/6 riders, Junior Nats/1 rider, Master Nats/1 rider, Elite Nats/3 riders. Our weekly schedule will be modified to accomplish all of our goals:
It is
very satisfying to realize that the dreams of those who built this track are
coming true - 8 New Young Riders 15-23yr are preparing and competing at this
years Nationals. Many of these riders are new to the track THIS YEAR. Friday July 4th 7:00 p.m. July 6, 2008 - Day 3 Final Race Report Elite "A" Race Going into DAY 3 Team Euro was 6 pts ahead of Team USA Blue but going into the last 15 Mile Madison Team USA Blue moved 8pts ahead of Team Euro with Team Red only 1 lap behind. A true battle was occurring but about halfway thru the Madison Team Euro's relief rider went up to the top of the track unknowingly taking Team Teal's rider with him. They touched wheels which caused Team Euro and Team Teal to need a new wheels. Team USA Blue attacked which caused Team Euro to lose a lap. But that effort allowed Team Red to charge and take a lap on their own. Now Team USA Blue and Team Red were on even laps. Team Euro charged to regain their lap but ran out of time and Team Red couldn't find enough points to move ahead of Team USA Blue. Throughout the 3 DAY Team Euro was most aggressive along with Team USA Blue, Team USA White and Team Red. Team USA White's rider was involved in a miss-hap during Day 2's Miss & Out and then had a wheel collapse on Day 3 which left USA White without a partner. An amazing 3 days of racing. Hats off to Danny Heeley, Justin Williams, Adrian Hegavary, Dan Harm, Danielle DeFranceshi, Dave Byer, Dan Holloway & Ben Barsi-Rhyne. Honorable mention to Brian Crosby, Ben Dubay, Luke Cavender and Brendan Benson. The 2008 NAS-TRACK UIV 3 DAY was undoubtedly the fastest and most exciting race ever on the INTERNATIONAL VELODROME at Bloomer Park in Rochester Hills, Michigan. THANK YOU NAS-TRACK RIDERS!
"A" Race Team Gold and Team White battled to the end. Team Gold had the lead going into the final 10 Mile Madions but Team White made a great move trying to lap Team Gold when they got involved in a misshap. Team Gold then went on to win the final sprint and the "A" race. Another
great showing by all the NAS-TRACK RIDERS!
